Is there anything wrong with a Elf Fighter Dex based with weapon finesse...
Is there a way to make it work?|||Nothing wrong with playing what you like, though for reasons stated below you don't really need Weapon Finesse. Here's the pros, cons, and suggested things to get:
PROS: Looks cool; gain magical benefits and bonuses from two weapons rather than one; better reflex saves with focus on higher dexterity (area damage spells, traps); most smaller weapons have higher crit chances.
CONS: Less damage due to lower strength and light weapons until you get superior weapons; no shield means less damage reduction and less love from your cleric friends; many monsters (undead, oozes) are immune to critical damage.
THINGS TO GET:
Dexterity 17 (for Improved and Greater TWF). You may want to save building points and set your dex at 16 to start since the 17 Dex won't be required until much later (6th level). Then at 4th level put a point in Dex.
STR of 14, negates real need for Weapon Finesse, and you'll get at little building point cost some extra punch.
Mithril armor (or anything that functions as a lighter category). Maximize your Dex bonuses. For you, chain shirts will be just as good as plate armor.
Weapons with extra sources of damage (like +1d6 fire per hit). This is essential as the whole purpose of TWF is to hit often.
Feats: Two Weapon Fighting, Improved TWF, Improved Critical, Weapon Focus, Greater TWF.
Ignore Two-Weapon Defense as a +1 to your AC isn't impressive (Dodge does the same thing, getting both for a grand total of +2 to AC is a huge waste of feats...just buy Potions of Shield of Faith or the like).|||Don't pay the fee, play it free.
